The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. This fall, Mommy Nearest is partnering with FARE and the Switch Witch to promote food allergy awareness and a love for learning with a FREE playdate at Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose!
Wear your favorite Halloween costume and join us for a food allergy friendly playdate. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the 150 exhibits and programs at the Museum as well as Teal Pumpkin Project Arts and Crafts, a story reading of The Switch Witch, and food allergy friendly topics covered by Board-Certified Allergist Specializing in Diagnosis of Allergies and Asthma in Children and Adults, Katharine S. Nelson, M.D. Don't miss out on this afternoon of education, crafts, and fun.
About the Teal Pumpkin Project: Every child should be able to experience the joy and tradition of trick-or-treating on Halloween. But kids with food allergies are often left out of the fun, since most candy is off limits.
FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project helps make sure all children will come home on Halloween night with something they can enjoy. It just takes one simple act: offering non-food treats, such as glow sticks or small toys, as an alternative to candy.
Don't miss out on this afternoon of fun and interactive learning. Space is limited, so RSVP today!
*To limit potential allergy concerns, the consumption of outside food is discouraged at this event. Grab & go items will be available for purchase in Foodshed until 4pm.
