Join us on January 27th for an adorable and fun pre-ballet and creative movement class at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre! Classes will be at their Dorchester location.
There will be two complimentary sessions:
12:30pm - 30-minute Pre-Ballet/Creative Movement Class (ages 3-6) Creative Dance (ages 3-4) is an introduction to movement and music in a fun, structured environment. Children use musical instruments, props and stories from diverse cultures to foster imagination, self-awareness and cooperation with others. Classes focus on developing coordination, spatial awareness, listening skills, and creative voice. Pre-Ballet classes (ages 5-6) transition children to a more structured ballet environment. Students are introduced to ballet positions, foundational movements like plié and tendu, and begin movements across the floor. Pre-Ballet classes enhance children’s spatial awareness, memory and coordination.
1pm - 30-minute Creative Movement Class (ages 7 and up) Ballet Levels I, II and III lay the ongoing foundation for a student’s classical ballet training. Students learn the fundamental principles of a traditional ballet class and improve movement skills in a nurturing context that fosters self-discipline and a sense of personal achievement. Students ages 8+ are placed in levels II or III based on a placement audition.
